Join the 11th National Council members and volunteers to catch up on what has been going on with Phi Sigma Rho and what we have planned moving into our 25th year as a sorority!

 

Recruitment: Holistic Practices & Marketing

Led by: Kellan (Jablonski) Ponikiewicz
The recruitment workshop, to be held during the Summer Leadership Convention, will focus on holistic recruitment practices. Each aspect of the workshop will be hands-on and participants will go through the entire recruitment process from start to finish, creating a personalized recruitment plan for their respective chapter. The workshop will also include a discussion regarding chapter and sorority marketing on campus, and how marketing can be used year-round to bolster recruitment during the rush period.
 

Suggestions for the workshop are welcome and should be directed to Kellan Ponikiewicz.

 

How to Begin Your Alumnae Association (Alumnae Only)

Led by: Nicole (Sprenkle) Mytych, National VP of Alumnae Affiars
This step-by-step guide will be broken down into a workshop to show all Alumnae the process for starting an Alumnae Association and keeping it going. Learn how to start an Alumnae Association for your chapter and what basics are needed for an Alumnae Association. Organization and communication are essential for a successful AA. Does your AA have a yearly event for its Alumnae to attend? Find out what events draw the biggest Alumnae and how to get them started in yours! Share your experiences with other Alumnae and get fired up to make things happen in your Alumnae Association.
 

Why Can’t We Just Get Along?! Conflict Resolution

Led by: Becky Miller & Jan Willig
This program covers conflict resolution and how leadership skills go hand in hand with solution finding. Becky and Jan will typically cover:

• What is conflict resolution and what it is not
• Conflict as part of everyday life
• Teaching how to manage a win-win situation
• Sources and creative alternatives for solutions
• Role Play
• Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Skills
• Creative presentation and not just sit and get!

Our goal is for growth in understand, dealing with and the emotions of conflict and how to resolve it.
 

Meeting Management: Productive Meetings & Roberts Rules

Led by: Kristen Rector, National Leadership Director
Learn how to hold productive meetings in this workshop. We will cover details of pre-meeting organization, how to structure a meeting, taking effective notes, delegation and assigning action items and proper follow-up. Also a Robert’s Rules review and live demo will be held.

 

Sigmand's Roundtable - Facilitated Discussions

Led by: Kristen Rector, National Leadership Director

With Nicolette Yovanof, National VP of Programming
Facilitators will collect topics of discussion all weekend and run small groups to talk about ideas, problems, or hot topics of discussion in small groups. Take this time to network with your sisters, brainstorm some great ideas, and get help with some of your sorority problems.

RFD Session (RFDs Only)

Led by: Tracy Egut, VP of Collegiate Affairs
This meeting is for all Regional Field Directors hosted by the VP of Collegiate Affairs to go over RFD issues and expectations for the future.

 

President's Session (Presidents Only)

Lead by: Tracy Egut, VP of Collegiate Affairs
This meeting is for Chapter Presidents to meet with each other and the VP of Collegiate Affairs to discuss any problems or issues as well as ask any questions of NC and each other.

 

Grant Process Session

Led by: Elana Chapman, Foundation President

This session will cover the current Grant Submission Process that the Foundation has established. If your organization would like to be involved in requesting a grant for funding, you will learn about how to submit the appropriate paperwork and timeline for requesting a grant, and the follow up paperwork required at the end of the project.

 

National Leadership Breakfast (Past National Officers - By Invite Only)
The 11th National Council would like to host our past national officers for a networking and social breakfast on Saturday morning. This event is closed and will be open to past National Council volunteers, Foundation Board of Directors, and sorority charter members.

 

 

Social Activities

 

Collegiate Night
Come join us for the Friday night social at the Cats Den and unwind from the first day of the Phi Sigma Rho National Leadership Conference. To satisfy your stomach there will be pizza, hotwings, soda and much more. For entertainment we’ll have ping pong, pool, boardgames, and don’t forget great social time with fellow sisters! Make sure to show off your school pride by wearing collegiate apparel!

 

Alumnae Luncheon & Tour @ Ashland Alumnae Only – Lunch Included, Other Costs Not Included
Get together to socialize with other alumnae and tour the Henry Clay House – Ashland! Join this social for a tour of the house, lunch, and tour of the grounds (weather permitting). For more information, check out the website.
Anticipate out of pocket cost of $6 admission + taxi cost.


PJ Party: Game & Scrapbooking Night
Join in on a board game and scrapbooking "pajama party" in the lobby of the dorms! Have a relaxing evening with your Phi Rho Sisters playing games and helping us create a scrapbook with information about the founding of your chapter and history to date. Feel free to bring your own games and scrapbooks to work on too! And take advantage of some bonding time and pampering with OSU-Beta Chapter, Alpha class member Mary McWilliams to "Get your face ready for bed!" She'll also have information on fundraising programs and other products through the night.

 

Bowling Trip Optional – Not Included in Registration Fee
Take a trip to go bowling at Collin’s Bowling Center, just a short drive from campus. There will be a refreshment booth and of course bowling!
Anticipate out of pocket cost of $4/lanes ($22 for 6 people), $2.50 for shoes, + taxi cost

 

Service Activity: Visiting VA Hospital Patients
Come show the military veterans how much you appreciate their service. We will be going the Veteran's Affairs Hospital on UK's campus for our service project this summer. During our time there, we will be visiting with the patients and will have the opportunity to lift their spirits and to hear some truly amazing stories from some of our nation's heroes. Please encourage your chapter to bring cards for the patients to show them how much we value their service and sacrifice.
