National
Logo Guidelines
A. Objective:
The objective of these guidelines is to establish Phi Sigma Rho
as the foremost sorority for women in technical studies and to
establish the national logo by which Phi Sigma Rho will be
nationally recognized.
All logo elements are designed to communicate this message to
the Greek and non-Greek communities.
All official communications and materials from Phi Sigma Rho
should be instantly recognized as such. Consistent branding is
the cornerstone of conveying a national image. Official
communication is defined as all communication outside of
sister-to-sister communication. One should always strive to
maintain a constant look, message and feeling in every official
communication.
B. Logo Elements:
The logo elements are as follows:
Phi
Sigma Rho logo
Symbol only Logo
Individual elements
Brand color
Typeface
Phi Sigma Rho Logo – Figure 1
The complete logo identity is summarized in the Phi Sigma Rho
logo. It contains meaningful sorority symbols that unite the
sorority both in meaning and history.
Usage: The Phi Sigma Rho logo is to
be used in its entirety. Exceptions to this rule are when an
element or elements of the logo is accompanied by the complete
logo (i.e. stationary letterhead includes the complete logo with
a watermark of the pyramid in the background) or in the symbol
version of the logo described below. The complete logo itself
should not be watermarked on promotional material.
Registration: Pending
Position of logo on all materials: In each usage, the
logo should be placed in a place of prominence. Business cards,
letterheads, note cards and envelopes should follow the
templates and examples provided by National Council.
Size: Minimum logo size on printed material is 3.5 cm by
3.5 cm. Minimum logo size on an item of clothing is 7 cm by 7
cm.
Color: The Phi Sigma Rho logo colors are wine red
(Pantone® 208) and silver (Pantone® 877). The rising sun, star
and name are wine red. The pyramid is silver. This is the
primary color combination. For applications where the background
is dark, the wine red elements can be changed to white. When
color is not available, black may be used for all elements.
Since black and white compromises the elegance of the logo, use
this only in informal applications of the logo.
Typefaces: The typeface used in the logo is Tekton Bold

Symbol Only Logo – Figure 2
The symbol logo is an alternative to the complete Phi Sigma Rho
logo. It has specific usage guidelines and is not the primary
logo choice.
Usage: The symbol logo is a simplified version of the
logo. The primary usage is in instances where a larger font for
the name is desired (i.e. a large banner) or where the complete
logo is being used in conjunction. It should not be used outside
of these guidelines or on official stationary without National
Council approval. The symbol logo itself should not be
watermarked on promotional material.
Position of logo on all materials: In each usage, the
logo should be placed in a place of prominence unless used as a
secondary element to the complete logo.
Size: Minimum logo size on printed material is 3.5 cm by
3.5 cm. Minimum logo size on an item of clothing is XX by XX.

Individual Elements
Pyramid – Figure 3
Usage: The pyramid may be used alone or with other
elements as a secondary element when the complete logo is used
on the promotional item. Watermarked versions of the single
element are acceptable. When used without the Phi Sigma Rho name
inserted on the right portion of the pyramid, the complete
pyramid must be used.
Color: The pyramid is silver (Pantone® 877). When color
is not available, black may be used for the pyramid. Since black
and white compromises the elegance of the logo elements, use
this only in informal applications of the logo. A 8-10% screen
or 40% black screen can be used for watermarked applications.
Star – Figure 4
Usage: The star may be used alone or with other elements
as a secondary element when the complete logo is used on the
promotional item. The star itself should not be watermarked on
promotional material.
Color: The star is wine red (Pantone®
208). On dark color backgrounds, the star can be printed in
white. When color is not available, black may be used for the
star. Since black and white compromises the elegance of the logo
elements, use this only in informal applications of the logo
elements.
Rising Sun – Figure 5
Usage: The rising sun may be used alone or with other
elements as a secondary element when the complete logo is used
on the promotional item. The rising sun itself should not be
watermarked on promotional material.
Color: The rising sun is wine red (Pantone® 208). On dark
color backgrounds, the rising sun can be printed in white. When
color is not available, black may be used for the star. Since
black and white compromises the elegance of the logo elements,
use this only in informal applications of the logo elements.
Name – Figures 6 and 7
Usage: The name may be used alone or with other
elements as a secondary element when the complete logo is used
on the promotional item. The name may also be organized
horizontally on promotional items. The name itself should not be
watermarked on promotional material.
Color: The pyramid is wine red (Pantone® 208). On dark
color backgrounds, the name can be printed in white. When color
is not available, black may be used for the star. Since black
and white compromises the elegance of the logo elements, use
this only in informal applications of the logo elements.
Typefaces: The typeface used is Tekton Bold Ex.
Product color
The primary color for the logo is wine red (Pantone® 208) and
silver (Pantone® 877)
When color is not available, the primary color should be black
(no grayscale should be used).
In official stationary applications, Cambric White Linen paper
must be used. The style must conform to the guidelines set by
National Council. Please contact National Council to purchase
stationary or to obtain examples for professional printing.
The logo may be applied to any color clothing or paper. Care
should be used to utilize the proper logo (wine red/silver or
white/silver) to complement the application.
When the logo is embroidered, thread should be Madeira wine red
1035, silver 1118 and white 1001. If Madeira brand is not
available, equivalent colors should be used.
Typefaces
The name “Phi Sigma Rho” should always appear in Tekton Bold Ex
when used with and within the logo.
In stationary applications for official communications, Arial
typeface should be used for all text and addresses.
In unofficial communications, any font can be used. A suggestion
would be Comic Sans MS.
C. Application
The branding elements should be applied according to the
guidelines for all materials: stationary, clothing, brochures,
banners, etc.
All materials should be easily recognizable as a representation
of the Phi Sigma Rho National Sorority regardless of origin.
If there are any questions or concerns with the application of
the national logo, please contact a National Council
representative.

use of these logo guidelines. Submit examples of each
promotional piece to National Council prior to mass printing.
