Sara
DaSilva was an Alpha class member at the University of
Pittsburgh-Zeta Chapter. She graduated in 2003 with a BS in
Chemical Engineering and completed her MBA in 2006 from the
University of Phoenix online. She works as a plant
superintendent for Praxair, Inc., an industrial gases company,
at a production plant in Hatfield, PA. She is a manager of
approximately 20 technicians and drivers.
Sara held the position of Regional Field Director for East-1
from 2003-2005, and served on the 10th National Council as VP of
Alumnae Affairs from 2005-2007.
In October 2007 Sara married Marco, who she has
dated since college. They have a black dachshund named Harry who
completes their family. Sara, Marco, and Harry reside in
Pottstown, PA, which is midway between Philadelphia and Reading.
Her favorite part of being a Phi Rho as an adult is the
connection she has to other women who have an engineering
background. She appreciates the bond we have and how we can
relate about work issues we're all going through (as well as
family issues!). In her spare time she loves spending time with
her family, reading, and scrapbooking.
